FWIW, the Dallas Symphony has been hit with a double whammy in its management. They lost two competent leaders within a couple of months and now have a management void to fill. The same for the Dallas Opera, though it might be argued that the management void in the Dallas Opera is longer running than that which hit the DSO.

It notes that, unlike the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Opera, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra has a balanced budget for the 2011-12 season - but not without cost to the musicians. But, at least, it appears that management and the musicians were talking to each other.
