The San Francisco Opera is premiering "Heart of a Soldier" on 10 Sept. This opera deals with the life Rick Rescola, VP of Security Manager for Morgan Stanley who lost his life on 11 Sept going back into the World Trade Center trying to locate the last few of the 3,000 or so Morgan Stanley employees who had not made it out of the building. His actions that day saved the lives of those Morgan Stanley Employees.
A man whose real life makes the heroes of fictional opera fails by comparison. From service in the British military, to his immigration to the US and service in the US Army at Ia Drang (See Hal Moore's Book "We Were Soldiers, Once and Young) to his work at Morgan Stanley truly the life that legends are made of.
