On Sunday I hacked my way through the F and D trills in the fourth movement
of Dvorak 8, the last piece of the concert. As you know, I got 3 shots at
it. I first tried lipping them both; I failed on the D (the note I usually
can trill on very easily). Then I tried using a 1-0 trill on the F and lip
trilling the D. That sounded and was inconsistent. How have other amateurs
out there successfully performed them?

I have a decent lip trill, but I have always fingered these. I don't think they are intended to sound "refined" but as wild as possible, with the right notes.
