If you ask these questions, you really seem to be still far away from
your target. I gave the internet address, where you can listen to
classical horn tone, but have have not read my message careful enough,
otherwise you had visited my site very often.

Here is the address again:

www.pizka.de

If you are tired scrolling through the sitemap, go directly to

www.pizka.de/sigfrid.htm

to listen to many (not only my own) recordings with beautiful but also
powerful tone

or go to

www.pizka.de/WrHrPlay1.htm

to listen to recordings of the classic Viennese Horn Tone - several
pages full of Video & Audio Clips

or , for advice go to www.pizka.de/younger.htm

with many ideas for younger players & students.

Your recording dilemma: mics never in direct line to the bell, sidewards
always !!

Try to practice in your nearest church so to have a bigger room. These
small practise studios, dead in sound, are real poison for the
embouchure & the tone development.

Not satisfied with your tone ? Why not trying a Viennese type mouthpiece
? My mouthpieces have cured many players problems. Do not refuse to play
a slim rim mouthpiece. It cures you from pressing too much, because you
would cut your lips then. Result: playing more relaxed than before & the
tone becomes much better. See www.pizka.de/mpiece.htm

Over sixhundred players enjoy playing with this classic mouthpiece. Get
a try !

And, if you like the sites as above, tell your friends about & let other
list members participate on your positive experience.

Greetings from quite cool but sunny Munich

Because of time/money lack, i can't follow any lessons this year, but i
want to work on a better tone. How can i correct myself. What's a good
tone when you're playing because most of us just study in a room with
very dry accoustics or even a room that isn't addapted at all to study
music. How can you hear if you're in a good way? Can i find recordings
on the net of how a horn sounds to you when you're playing? Or can you
just supervise en correct yourself by recording? When you record while
studying, where do you place the mic? Just in front of the bell or
somewhere else in the room?

My biggest problem is, i think, i don't know by what a horntone is
influenced. Which role plays your tongue, what happens when you move it,
what's the role of the angle you make with the leadpipe?
