Ok, So less than a week after getting my horn back from a relacquer some scratches have appeared in my bell (I believe it's caused by part of the case catching on it as I lift up the mouthpipe to take it out of the case (they are on the outside of the bell, round the circumference, and go half way round).
They are not very deep, the metal is in no way damaged. I am not going to pay hundreds to get the bell relacquered *again*, but every time I look at it it annoys me (I managed not to do this for 20 years, so how come now when it's just been done!?) I was wondering if anybody knew of a fix for this, or at least a way of covering it up a bit? Turtle Wax do "chip sticks" for cars, where you rub a wax crayon like stick over the scratch and it disappears. Is there anything similar with a clear lacquer that would make the scratches less obvious?? Would a workshop be able to minimise it by any means? Can't *believe* I have done this :( Thanks in advance for any help.... Martin. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
