Jackson's been on the $20 since 1929. He was promoted from the $10 (1923)
and earlier the $5 (1869-1907), all essentially the same portrait. Before
1929, faces on the $20 included Washington, Grover Cleveland, Hugh
McCulloch, concurrently on gold certificates, Federal Reserve notes, and
National Bank notes, respectively.
