Wash the area well with a heavy application of gentle liquid dish detergent; rinse and dry. Then apply a non-abrasive car paste wax (ask your car products dealer for non-abrasive). Let dry and polish with a soft cloth. The paste wax will also cover over minor scratches and help your horn finish look new.
The process involved: you want to clean the pitted or scratched area to prepare it for direct contact with the paste wax.
