Offbeats: one BIG reason I prefer orchestras over bands! But I'm reminded of some wonderful marches we used to play some years ago. At the time our group was privileged to have a really super conductor with many wonderful traits,one of which was..he LOVED everything German,it seemed. We played ALOT of German marches from from march books he provided and personally, I thought them far superior (and great fun to play) than 99% of the Sousa stuff. Sadly,after our esteemed leader passed away,those German march books simply disappeared..while I was librarian,of all things! There were there,then they weren't!
