Ineffectiveness & inexperienced.

Recently I received an urgent letter by an University in MS in the USA,
sent by EXPRESS MAIL United States Postal Service, picked up on Friday
Feb.13th, 11:40 AM, It arrived here in Germany on Feb.18th, but the US
Postal Service business partner here in Germany is not German Post, but
GLS a private company. So delivery too until 24rth. All for a cost of
23.00 USD for 2.1 ozs.

But be assured, German Post is not better since it had been sold to the
public.

The other experience was with an Ebay won item, sent by the seller just
one hour after I won & paid via PayPal. He sent it from Canada with
Express Airmail to Honolulu on Jan.31st, where my daughter should have
received it until Feb.11th to bring it with her home to me. I followed
the tracking until the parcel arrived in the USA in Texas at the central
distribution facilities on Feb.4rth. The parcel did not move from there.
I inquired, but got the response "tracking for the USA would not have
been included into the tariff". Finally the small parcel arrived in
Honolulu on Feb. 21st - some three weeks on the way, a master piece of
logistics indeed - & has been mailed to me in Germany on Feb.23rd to
arrive still this year perhaps, if it is not checked & checked & checked
again by the all suspect US carrier, hopefully FedEx or UPS. I will tell
you, when it has arrived.

Moral from that all:
If you order orchestra material for any of your concerts, do it plenty
ahead of time, as nobody can predict these days when the music will
arrive. The earlier ordering will not increase my very modest rental
fee, as I am aware of the situation, which is not created by the renter.

Best wishes
