Hans wrote, with a justifiable point: "And isn't your country more concentrated on military, at least at the moment? Or since some thirty years or longer? With more "Does & Donts" than many other countries of Western culture?"
Hans points out how the rest of the world sees us. There is a connection between our imperialist aggression with a country that didn't attack us and our love for patriotic show. Hans is not all wrong in suggesting a historical link between the marching band and patriotic celebration. Every spring and every fall the hornlists go through this hiccup regarding marching bands. I suggest that even the most serious musician can gain some valuable experience from marching band. I did, playing on a Bach 7 and and Elkhart 8D. Then I loved even more the arrival of symphonic band season! _______________________________________________________________________ Internet Access, Shared & Dedicated Web Hosting.
