Hello, Horn List.

I've been busy lately, and am about a month
behind in reading, storing and answering E-Mails.
I managed to finish writing a new "Quintet for Bb
Clarinet [or Viola] and Violin, Viola, Cello and
String Bass" (April 2004, 4 mvts., 19 min.), which
is irrelevant to you guys, but I'm very pleased with
it. It is a very lyrical work, that I think will do well,
and may be premiered this Fall by the Dedicatee,
Professor Joze Kotar, of the Music Academy in
Ljubljana, Slovenia.

I also finished the Re-Editing and re-printing of
my "Second Woodwind Quintet", which I've been
meaning to do for 4 years. Each instrument
requires Professional Level Playing Skills, and the
Horn Part ranges from the Written Small C, (in the
Middle of the Bass Clef), up to the Written F#2, at
the top of the Treble Clef.

"Second Woodwind Quintet" (Sept. 1997, 5 mvts,
18' 28") (A profound work, that equally shares
the spotlight between the 5 players.)
(Written for Flute, Oboe, Bb Clarinet, Horn in F,
and either Bassoon or Bb Bass Clarinet. The
    recording uses the Bass Clarinet.)

I Maestoso 4' 44"
II Adagio 3' 00"
III Allegro: Fortspinnung 2' 48"
IV Adagio 5' 06"
V Allegretto Maestoso 2' 50"
      Total Time: 18' 28"

Some of you have been asking about this Wood-
wind Quintet, so now it's ready. Unlike too many
woodwind quintets, that are light-hearted to the
point of being nave and almost juvenile, this one
balances lyricism with profundity and drama. On
top of everything else, the Horn leads the bold "A"
Sections of the ABA-Coda formed last movement.

Please E-Mail or phone me for details, if you are
interested. (Be aware that I've been having problems
with my Internet connections, so you may have to
phone me.)

I gotta get back to the Happy Farm.
