The most obvious answer would be the American Horn Competition. The AHC is held every two years and unlike most competitions around the world does not impose a maximum age for the professional division contestants or a minimum age for the university division contestants. The competition is held every two years and moves around a bit, but you are in luck in that in 2005 it will be relatively close to you - with Eldon Matlick hosting at the University of Oklahoma.
