The horn I saw was listed in that 1930 catalog: http://www.geocities.co.jp/MusicHall-Horn/2569/kruspe/krusp.html as the "Modell Horner, Philadelphia" The one pictured is different from some of the other Horner models that didn't have the separate Bb slide. Your New Symphony is listed as the "Modell Walter Kruspe" in the catalog. Walter was a great grandson of Carl Kruspe. (C Kruspe, well known woodwind instrument makers) and was granted a patent for a double horn in 1928 (#1027194) so that would jibe with Richard Vest's information that his was bought new in 1928. - Steve Mumford _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/hornfella%40comcast.net _______________________________________________ post: [email protected] unsubscribe or set options at http://music.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
