Make sure you have a little conversation with the clarinet player before hand or maybe after the first rehearsal, clarinets can play super soft so no matter what volume you play at you are too loud. I play this note cold I hear the chord progression in my head when I am practicing this so I know where to put the note, I also play it a solo mp like it belongs like I know it will come out and that there is no questions abut how it should be played.
