Ok, so how would one go about getting a copy of these editions?
Jay, get a copy of the old Breitkopf & Haertel Beethovens Werke edition. If you search at abebooks.com you'll find one inexpensively at Decorum Books in London (a very nice source for old music). Whatever the particular year of reissue of Decorum's copy, the edition was initially published in the mid-1860s as part of the B & H complete works series, so is fair game for recycling.
