Horn GA Positions Available at the University of Oklahoma Duties:
Position 1: Graduate Brass Quintet, Assist with Major and non-major lessons, Co-direct the OU Hornsemble. Perform in Wind Symphony or University Orchestra Position 2: Graduate Woodwind Quintet, Assist with major and non-major lessons, Co-direct OU Hornsemble. Perform in Wind Symphony or University Orchestra STIPEND: Those appointed to a .50 FTE position for consecutive Fall and Spring semesters receive a total stipend of $9,123.93 for the 9-month appointment (16 August through 15 May). TUITION WAIVER: As of August 2006, Qualifying Graduate Assistants receive a waiver of seven hours of resident tuition each regular (Fall and Spring) semester of their appointment. Non-residents of Oklahoma also receive an additional waiver of nine hours of non-resident tuition each regular semester. Those non-residents who hold a Qualifying Graduate Assistantship for the full Spring semester are eligible for four hours of non-resident tuition waiver in the Summer semester immediately following. HEALTH INSURANCE: Qualifying Graduate Assistants receive subsidized single health insurance coverage through the Student Health plan as a benefit of employment. Additional coverage and dependant coverage is available for purchase. Questions about the health insurance should be directed to the Student Health Plan office at (405) 325-9196. SERVICE REQUIREMENTS: A .50 FTE assistantship, i.e.: a Qualifying Graduate Assistantship, requires an average of 20 hours per week of service appropriate to the assignment(s).
