Natuerlich meinte ich 15th. Bei uns gibt es das in der

Orchester, aber nur ganz kurz. Sie muessen, wenn Sie
Berufsmusiker sein wollen und nicht gerade an der ersten
Position landen koennen, sehr viel einstecken lernen. Und
wenn Sie doch als "Erster" landen, muessen Sie noch mehr
einzustecken lernen, sonst koennen Sie im Berufsorchester
nie ueberleben.
Und, bitte, zitieren Sie nicht immer gleich Ihre
Praesidenten. Wir tun das auch nicht, sonst kaemen wir aus
dem Lachen oder Weinen nicht mehr heraus. Aber wir koennten
Heinrich Heine, Wolfgang von Goethe oder Friedrich von
Schiller oder Wolfgang Gottlieb Mozart oder Joseph Haydn,
Gustav Mahler, Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, usw.
bemuehen. Ganz einfach.
Ihr habt eines gemeinsam mit vielen jungen Menschen hier:
wenn auf den Schwanz getreten wird, wird gross lamentiert.
Zieht doch einfach den Schwanz ein, wenn es kritisch wird.
Lieber einmal feige, als ewig tot. Ist doch besser, oder ?
Wenn Sie mit Ihrem vorletzten Satz auf bestimmte Dinge
anspielen, rate ich Ihnen in aller Freundschaft zu grosser
Vorsicht. Bei bestimmten Dingen hoert der Spass auf !

one way to spell a word."
As someone who has been spelling challenged for a long while
in my native language, I found one of the basic rules
suggest for the internet, "it is consider to be impolite to
misspell words as surely as it is considered impolite to
point out spelling errors in others."
Of course, I am sure there are probably sages on this list
who would recommend that it is best not to stir things up.
They are probably right.

A prominent musician recently offered:
"Practise one octave jumps tongued and slured, practise the
same way for nineth, tenth, eleventh, twelvth, thirteenth,
fourteenth, fifteenth & finally double octaves... And that
are double "octaves" not "octives"...
And it cannot be the a-flat above the clef. It should be the
a-flat above the staff. Is it that difficult to remember
even the minimum of terminology in music ?"
I am disappointed that in the process of chastising a poster
for confusing "clef" with "staff" we are given no fewer than
5 spelling errors and an error of fact. Note: a fifteenth IS
a double octave. Remember that when counting intervals
8+8=15.
It is to discuss horn playing that we are here for, not to
check each others' grammar and spelling. I am thankful that
non-native English speakers
are willing to contribute ideas from across the globe in a
second or third language. I promise not to nit-pick and
correct every spelling and grammatical error that appears on
this list as long as those making the mistakes don't nitpick
others for the same.
Oh, and I did mean bating, not batting nor baiting. Although
I am sure you will read the meaning that you are looking
for.
