There's a short passage in the first movement of Mahler 6 (just after rehearsal mark 33) that sounds like the inspiration for every bit of movie music ever written by John Williams. And I thought that the first few bars of the last movement of Mahler 6 (celeste, harp, strings) could have been used absolutely unmodified to accompany the first sight of Hogwarts School :-) Regards Jonathan West _______________________________________________ post: horn@music.memphis.edu unsubscribe or set options at http://music2.memphis.edu/mailman/options/horn/archive%40jab.org
