Mr. Spillman, you are in for a fabulous treat. Peter Damm is a complete hornist. He was also solo horn with the Dresden Statskappell (correct my spelling, Hans...) for many years and has been featured in all the great orchestral repertoire. It's all good.

Hi, I'm sure I am expressing my ignorance! However, that's never stopped me in the past! While sitting at my computer this morning and catching up on my email I had the radio tuned to our classical music station, KMFA in Austin TX. I just heard a performance of Mozart's 3rd concerto that took my breath away. Their web site says it was: "Now Playing: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart : Horn Concerto No. 3 Academy of St Martin in the Fields Neville Marriner, conductor Peter Damm, horn I was not familiar with Herr Damm, so I looked him up on Google and found that he has had a 45 year career as a horn player and soloist. This is the first I have heard of him. I am going to find some of his recordings, which are extensive. Isn't Google convenient? Every time I start feeling that I know a bit about something, something like this happens. Next Wednesday, I'll be 77. You think I would know better by now! I guess the old cliche is still true: "You are never too old to stop learning." Regards... Tom -- Thomas M. Spillman, Jr. Asst.
