Yes, Yes, Valerie´s dear friend thought right that the composer's name had two syllables & starts w/ an S... maybe. Yes, Yes, Heinrich Hueblers name starts with two syllabes with "S". What a pitty, that so many of you cannot remember European names except Muller & Mayr. Just joking.
There is a story about the two policemen who on their nightly tour found a man dead. So they had to write a report & looked for the name of the street. Well, Drygalski-street. "Come-on, give me a hand. Let´s take him around the corner !" - "Why ????" - "There is Mueller street, much easier to spell !". Yes, Valerie, it is the concerto by Heinrich Huebler, which is available as piano reduction for 4 horns & piano (this is a newly set piano reduction, set with Finale. And there is a full score & the orchestra material (Beethoven-like setting). But there is also an arrangement for the four solohorns & Windorchestra. This was KaWeEdition twenty-five years ago. But it is my publication since that time. I believe the work is the Concerto for 4 Horns and orchestra by Heinrich Hubler. Music available from KaWe (which was acquired by and available from Hans Pizka). I believe he has for sale versions for horns and piano, and for horns and orchestra. Hubler, by the way was a valve horn player and read through the work in 1849, which was before the premier performance in 1850. Comparing the two works it is reasonable to presume that Hubler would have made the comment you refer to. This information is from the Dalley Horn Catalogue - 2006 Edition.
