Well, that's not 100% accurate either. The early Farkas horns did not have the medallion, but beginning either in the very late 70's or early 80's they did, and continue to have the medallion. My 178 dating from 1970 did not have the medallion, but my 180 dating from 1981 does. Other than that, I pretty much agree that someone has really cobbled together a tale to sell this horn. I do know of 28D's having their bells replaced with an 8D bell, same on some of the old brass, pre-WWII Kruspes, mostly by some of the old-time New York players of the 40's-60's.
