I picked up a Chinese version of the piccolo horn recently and found it to be surprisingly playable and in tune.
It's pitched the same as a Bb trumpet and sounds between a horn and trumpet.

Subject: [Hornlist] John Packer Mini French Horn

Hi
I have seen this instrument on the J Packer website and am seriously thinking about buying it (not, I would stress as a serious instrument). Does anyone have any experience of this "horn"? (Intonation? Durability?... that sort of thing). Any opinions as to how it compares with the Wisemann or Berkeley versions?

Regards
Graham Jarvis
