This thread is almost 'threaded'. I believe the original interpretation of 
"Rare horn piece to be performed" in this context, refers to the infrequent 
performance of this piece within the United Kingdom; and yes, an added bonus is 
that it is to be performed on period instruments by credible musician's.

The USA is a 'big' country with many States and many fine orchestra's (as you 
all know). Of course there is more of a chance that this music would be more 
frequently performed in comparison. I hope this has helped to clarify the 
context of what sounds like a 'difference' of opinion amongst members.
