Co-principal HORN AUDITIONS

The Orchestra: Redwood Symphony, in its 25th season, is an all-volunteer
orchestra devoted to performing repertoire that is more ambitious and
contemporary than that of most other groups. With Music Director and Founder
Dr. Eric Kujawsky, we have performed all of the Mahler symphonies, symphonies
by Lutoslawski, many of the major orchestral works of Stravinsky and Bartok,
works by Elfman, Adams, Zappa, Daugherty and Corigliano and most of the major
orchestral works of the last century, as well as the more standard repertoire.
We have six critically-acclaimed CDs available through Amazon.com and iTunes.

Redwood Symphony rehearses on Wednesday nights from 7 to 10 onstage in the
Canada College Main Theatre in Redwood City (Farm Hill Blvd and 280). We
perform on the same stage. We perform seven times a year, generally on
Saturday evenings at 8:00 (one concert per set). Our season includes a Family
Concert and Summer Pops Concert, and we have a concerto competition open only
to orchestra members. As stated above, Redwood Symphony is a volunteer
orchestra. All orchestra members must register as students for a nominal fee.
The new member of the horn section would be considered a co-principal with the
other four, and can negotiate for principal parts throughout the season.

This Season: Repertoire includes Mahler’s Tenth Symphony (orch. by Barshai),
Shostakovich’s Tenth Symphony, Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto, The Firebird
(complete), Fancy Free, the Eroica Symphony and An American in Paris.

Wednesday, August 12, Canada College Main Theatre, 7-10 p.m.
