Hi, We would be happy to think about ideas for the USIP grant, but the HOT chat is in the middle of the dark african night.
My contribution: we make a much better chance if we work with a local partner who is doing 'actual work' on the ground. In the end, the map is not a product in itself, but only useful when it makes their lives (and through partners, the people who live in yet unmapped areas) easier. (and that is why we are very excited to work with Warchild ( http://warchild.org/ btw) rgds, reinier On Wednesday 28 March 2012 16:49:06 Kate Chapman wrote: > Just a reminder that the next HOT chat is in just over 13 hours: > http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Humanitarian_OSM_Team/HOT_Chats > > I will likely only be attending for the first 1/2 hour because then I > will be on my way to a mapping workshop. > > Things that might be of interest to discuss: > > -USIP Grant Application > -Upcoming Server Read-only mode (what the heck do we do if there is an > event) > > Of course also anything else people are interested in. > > Best, > > -Kate > > _______________________________________________ > HOT mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot -- rgds, Reinier Battenberg Director Mountbatten Ltd. www.mountbatten.net tel: +256 758 801749 twitter: @batje _______________________________________________ HOT mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot
