Hi All, I am writing to let you know about the decision taken for the EUROSHA project staffing.
Stéphane Henriod has been hired for the EUROSHA Project Field Coordinator position and will be deploying for HOT 3 weeks this month to complete the follow-up field support of the EUROSHA volunteers team in Kenya. Stéphane is an experienced OSM mapper with a strong background in both geography and GIS, giving him an excellent knowledge of all aspects related to spatial information (data modeling, data collection and management, analysis, production of graphical outputs) and of numerous software solutions, both open source and proprietary. He also has a long experience of humanitarian work and fields (Afghanistan, Tajikistan) where he has put his knowledge into practice in various fields (use of natural resources, natural disaster risk management, post-disaster remote assessment) and contexts (International Organizations, NGOs, private sector). Last but not least, Stéphane is also active in HOT remote events (Camp Roberts in Ethiopia, 2012 Iran quake, Padang) and has been promoting OSM and HOT to various actors in Central Asia, while starting the coordination of OSM activities in Tajikistan (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tajikistan), creating especially the first freely available map of the town of Khorog. I look forward to our work together! I would like to thank you all the applicants for the position. As I have already been requested by applicants that would like to get feedback regarding their application and advice to make it stronger, I will do it for any former applicant interested. And new positions will be published (very) soon... Sincerely, Severin _______________________________________________ HOT mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/hot
