A cyclone as hit Toliara area in Madagascar feb.22 and there was a Disaster Charter Activation on feb.23.
This morning, A Volunteer Team involved in this activation in Madagascar have contacted OSM through OSM-fr discussion list. They report the provisional toll of yesterday as : 26 died, 16 missing; 127 injuries; 40,154 victims (2261 Toliara I, 5358 Sakaraha, 5441 Toliara II, Betioky 16219 South 2880 CU Morombe, 3780 Ampanihy, 265 CR Soanala, 115 CU Betroka, 2459 Antakataka South Vangaindrano 1315, 1 Ankazoabo 562); 13,882 homeless (892 Toliara I, 2000 Sakaraha, 2271 Toliara II, 1680 South Betioky, 368 CU Morombe, 3780 Ampanihy, 100 Betroka, 2459 Antakataka South, 332 Vangaindrano, 1562 Ankazoabo); 7402 boxes totally destroyed (100 Sakahara, 120 Morombe, 1729 Toliara I, 1283 Betioky South Soanala 250 / dist Betroka, 3920 Toliara II); 2808 boxes disheveled (1175 Morombe, 185 Betioky South Sakaraha 1044, 372 Ampanihy, 32 Betroka) Note that there license restrictions with the SPOT imagery obtained through the Disaster Chapter. There are people that try to see what can be done with this.
