Heather,

Thanks, I was already aware of it, in fact, we use their KMLs at http://sos.openstreetmap.org.ar

I figure 4 main tasks
- Mapping the flood reach for reference in OSM
- Mapping alerts ( inundaciones2abril )
- Mapping La Plata infrastructure in OSM
- Providing OSM cartography to the entities that need it.

I did not contact the guys from inundaciones2abril, but I should, so an introduction would be nice.
I can help them to switch to OSM.

You can invite them to the local SotM (http://sotm.openstreetmap.org.ar) where Séverin will be talking about HOT. We can use the mapathon to work over La Plata (the SotM -April 27th- is free of charge, sadly the FOSS4G is not).

Thanks again to all,
Fernando.

Hi Fernando and Paul, I just wanted to let you know that someone is mapping information on the Floods on a Crowdmap. I will be reaching out to them today https://inundaciones2abril.crowdmap.com/

(I see they are used google maps, maybe they will change to OSM if I recommend it.)

I realize that your work is separate, but if you want an introduction, I'd be happy to do so.

I’ve put it up. The JOSM URL is

<http://pnorman.dev.openstreetmap.org/imagery/plata_apr_2013/%7bzoom%7d/%7bx%7d/%7by%7d.jpeg>

It goes south to General Belgrano and north across the water into
    Uruguay.

I’ll add it to the JOSM, P2 and iD lists tomorrow.

    Technical details:

I did this as JPEG tiles for speed reasons. I also made use of the
Terralook shapefiles for clipping, which wasn’t entirely
successful because there are some small black gaps.
