Hi everyone,

A couple HOTTIES (Yohan Boniface and I) have worked a JOSM Map Style that
many of you may find interesting.

For those unfamiliar to JOSM and JOSM map stylings, this map style defines
how features look in JOSM as you create and modify map data to upload to
OpenStreetMap !

Specifcally, this map style was created to focus on data mapped in Northern
Haiti as a part of HOT'S CAP103 project and can also be used in other
lesser developed areas.
within the HDM (Humanitarian Data Model) context.
This style includes 72 icons, most of which are from MapBox's Maki project
and the Noun Project. There's also styling of areas, natural features,
boundaries, and more.
Streets are styled based on highway, smoothness, and surface tags.

To begin using it in Josm, go to preferences > Select 3rd icon from the top
> Map Paint Styles > and add an entry to HDM and enter the following as the
source:

Over a dozen advanced Mappers in HOT's CAP103 Mapping project here in Cap
Haitien, Haiti have been using it, giving us feedback, and we'd also like
the HOT community's feedback as we continue working on this.
This is also a great compliment to the HDM Tagging Preset for JOSM that
Brian Wolford discussed on April 15 -
http://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/hot/2013-April/003079.html

Feel free to report your feedback here on the list or open an issue on our
github page, https://github.com/hotosm/HDM-JOSM-style .
Looking forward to hear your thoughts and discussion.

Regards,
Will Skora
