Dear all, As a member of the Digital Humanitarian Network, HOT has been invited by OCHA to participate fort the first time to the ECOSOC event<https://www.un.org/en/ecosoc/julyhls/has2013.shtml>, that will start from tomorrow Monday 15 until Wednesday 17, with various presentations and workshops (see the agenda here<https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_C6dUAEbjPid1JlaHg0OHFFZkE/edit>). I will represent HOT during this three days. For the DHN<http://digitalhumanitarians.com/>members, it will start on Tuesday morning, at 8:15 AM: OCHA will launch its Humanitarianism in a Network Age<http://www.unocha.org/hina> as part of what ECOSOC calls a "side event", even if this is an important report for OCHA and they want to make a nice presentation out of it, with a panel<https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=gmail&attid=0.1&thid=13fdd4b697b2bf87&mt=application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document&url=https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui%3D2%26ik%3D5aa8700a2e%26view%3Datt%26th%3D13fdd4b697b2bf87%26attid%3D0.1%26disp%3Dsafe%26realattid%3Df_hj49dkpb0%26zw&sig=AHIEtbRrKi2TIbCPsw_wPrIEWngqtEbgZA>and then, from around 9:30AM, will officially starts for the two next days a Humanitarian Fair, in which each invited DHN member will have a booth (see here<https://drive.google.com/?tab=mo&authuser=0#folders/0B_C6dUAEbjPiVGk3cG9ndmd1Z2c>, the one above) to present its projects and actions in the event showroom<https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_C6dUAEbjPiMFpGR0wtTlMzdXc/edit?usp=sharing>. We will install the booths tomorrow afternoon to be ready on Tuesday.
For the booth, I already printed on hard, nice paper the OSM flyer<https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_C6dUAEbjPiN3dsTzlORnRjNjg/edit> made by Kate'steam in Indonesia, some nice screenshots of the new HDDM rendering<http://umap.fluv.io/en/map/hdm-first-draft_728#18/19.67025/-72.12455>, different categories of TM Jobs, the HOT Exports website, the before/after map<https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_C6dUAEbjPiY2ZVWjNBTW5RSmc/edit>of an Activation in Minoca, DRC, or MapOSMatic map <https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_C6dUAEbjPiS2xvQm5hX2pFN3M/edit> of northern communes in Haiti. I will also have some paper forms and Walking/Field Papers to show on a pad as tools we use for field surveys. I will also put a looping slideshow on a 17 inches laptop, and would like to highlight the different projects HOT in which worked and is working, both remote projects like Activations and Field projects. I would be glad if the Hotties involved in such projects provide me some fancy slides to be added. I also think it would be nice if we could create a map showing these different categories of projects from the past and present, eg in a uMap<http://umap.fluv.io/en/>.
