As I said, I understand and in fact support your intentions but to
suggest a tweet starting with "not a white dude" is quite simply
insulting. Could I start a job search with the title "not a black dude?"
By all means reach out to members of the community you wish to encourage
by communicating in areas they may frequent but you cannot send global
messages excluding those you don't want.

Thanks Lela for the link. We encourage **everyone** who's interested
and qualified to apply to this and all positions at MapBox.
We also actively try to get job listings plus news about our work out
to diverse communities outside of our typical channels, which can be
more developer/map/technical oriented and often do not have the same
diversity as the world around us : ) Which is what I think Alyssa was
trying to help with here with the international community and
diversity OSM list.
Feel free to hit me up with any questions/concerns/suggestions here or
off thread.

Jonathan,
I think they are just advertising an Affirmative Action/Equal
Opportunity position - legal and required for federal contractors in
the US. Here's a list of boilerplate statements MapBox could draw
from to explain their diversity-in-hiring policy.

While I appreciate your intentions, in this country (UK) it is
illegal to specify that applicants for a job should be of any one
gender or race let alone specifying a race or gender that is not
welcome!

Hmm. That was supposed to be a rallying call however I've just
demonstrated my nonexistent skills in both cheerleading and
spelling. National Dork Day was yesterday, I must still be
celebrating.
But I digress! We are rallied.
So I humbly ask each ofmyou to reach to those diverse corners of
your networks (keep it PG, or at least kosher) for bizdev
superstars. And if you're feeling punchy, hop on twitter, these
babies are just waitin' for some retweet love.

PS I have no idea what the bathroom situation is in MapBox. I'm
sure it's awesome.
