For those of you in the United States, there are less than 48 hours left in 2013; that means you still have time to make a tax deductible, charitable gift to the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team. The 2012 financial disclosure¹ shows us that HOT substantially grew its revenues from 2011, however a bit unequally its expenses also grew; overall only slightly improving its financial stability. I expect that trajectory continued this year, potentially halting or reducing growth. Therefore, I ask you to join me in contributing even a small amount to HOT before the end of the year to show your support for all of our great work in 2013. Donations can be made directly on the HOT website². As a 501(c)(3), HOT is a qualified organization to receive your charitable contributions which in turn can be used for itemized deductions on your 2013 US tax filing, as explained on the IRS website³.
