Hi Luca,
Thanks for your contribution.I will let other contributors look at your
contributions and provide you some tips if necessary.
Sorry for the fact we did not come back earlier to give instructions to
contributors about this Activation. We had preliminary discussions with Red
Cross and CartONG about areas to
map. The first priority is for the Kailahun District which is closed to
Geckedou.
We look
presently for new imagery both for areas without Bing high-res imagery
and where the objects on the ground are obscured by clouds.
Kailahun District http://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/3230901
In the new Task 568, you will see a U shape polygon with Daru town at the
bottom. Please start by mapping from Daru, and progress from there. In
cloudy areas, we ask you to map what you can see through the clouds. We
will revise the mapping when the new imagery is available.
See http://tasks.hotosm.org/job/568
As the mapping progress, I also invite experienced mappers to revise the
classification of roads and validate contributions.
Thanks again for your contribution.
Pierre

Objet : [HOT] Ebola Re-Activation
Dear all,
I'm a newcomer and would like to volunteer as a contributor. I provided some
inputs to the Serbia Floods, so I got some understanding of how the Tasking
Manager works.
I've read the recent emails about the re-activation of the Ebola call, but I
must admit that without tasking manager it is quite confusing and difficult to
provide meaningful contributions. I tried to do something in the northern area
of Guinea, following the email from Ralf Stephan mentioning the cases in the
Boffa prefecture. But without any guidance and in the absence of any feedback,
it becomes quite frustrating, since I have no clue whether what I am doing has
any usefulness or any meaning.
May I ask you to start the tasking manager for the Ebola reactivation call?
If this is not possible, maybe you could provide a clear list of instructions
for newcomers, so we may provide focused and meaningful contributions?
Luca
