I completed revising the Administrative limits for Liberia, adding the district level (admin_limit=6). As bonus, validating the Liberia boundaries, I also revised a few broken polygons for the Guinea limits.
If you are not experienced with relations and boundary limits, be careful when you update various features such as rivers. There are often boundaries on that coincide with rivers. Saving your data, if you receive a message saying that you will break a relation, please do not update and take the time to ask others to help you how to fix the problem. This information is essentia to UN Agencies and humanitarian organizations to plan there interventions and distribution of goods. To revise the county limits (admin_limit=4) and add district limits (admin_limit=6) that correspond to the Liberia administrative limits, the Liberia Institue of Statistics and Geo (LISGIS) provided us shape files. The LISGIS data is low resolution and this needed some interpretation adapting with Bing imagery. Often, these limits are following natural limits such as rivers. Limits can still be enhance where they follow rivers. But this work has to be done by experienced mappers. There is an area in north-east of Nimba county which is not included in the district subdivisions. This look to be a national park. We will have to clarify this. https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=12/7.5118/-8.4897 It will take a certain time before these boundaries are integrated in particular with the Nominatim searches. I see various relations for administrative limits that contain subarea roles. This information is in general not necessary. The scripts that compute the administrative limits find automatically the various level of administrative limits in a country. Probably due to some delay of the Nominatim scripts to update administrative limits, this information is not totally functional. This should be until tomorrow probably. This Overpass query provide the administrative limits for Liberia admin_level=2,4,6 (ie. country, county, district). It is important that we coordinate and that no other contributor try to modify this process while I am correcting the various conflicts. The, please, do not revise any of these limits today even if you see duplicates or conflicts. Wait until I indicate that I have completed this. Pierre
