Hello Hotties, The Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) and the OpenStreetMap (OSM) community would like to welcome the new round of Outreachy interns. The program, originally known as the Outreach Program for Women (OPW) is aimed at helping individuals from under represented groups get involved in free and open source software. It is open to women (cis and trans), trans men and genderqueer people, and all participants of the Ascend Project regardless of gender.
>From the 25th of May, four highly motivated and enthusiastic students will begin their internship, which runs for three months until the 25th of August. They will be working on a number of key open-source projects within the community, contributing to matters like the organisation and content of LearnOSM, improving the help documentation of the HOT Export Tool, testing the usability of the HOT Tasking Manager and creating a QGIS plugin for the highly anticipated OpenAerialMap (OAM) project. Please give them a warm welcome and do not hesitate to get in touch with the associated mentors if you would like to collaborate and contribute towards one of the projects listed below. HOT’s participation in the Outreachy program is part of our larger goal to foster further diversity in its community, as well as provide everyone the chance to have a starting point.
