Suzan,
Please pass on my deepest condolences to Tom's family.
I admired Tom's drive and commitment under such difficult circumstances,
and I am sorry to lose him from our community. He devoted considerable
time and effort helping us to create learning materials to help in the
mapping of disaster areas & he remained a figure of integrity & sound
judgement throughout.
I will miss him as will our community.
In deepest sympathy

If anyone wishes to express condolences your email will be included in a letter
sent to to Tom Taylor’s wife and family.
Tom showed me that even when very ill it’s possible and important to contribute
to the stream of life. He was truly a great man, and I will miss him, and
treasure the time I had working with him.
Please add your thoughts here so we may include them if you wish his family
hear from you.

Dear Tom’s family,
I am so sorry to hear of Tom's death and we, the Bangladesh OpenstreetMap
community want to express our most sincere sympathies to the family during this
difficult time. Tom was a highly valuable and respected member of our great and
dynamic global community of HOT and OSM and the effects of his passing are
already being felt the community.
I knew from Tom’s profile that he started osm with geocaching. What a bold
career and life he lived!! No obstacles stopped him in his journey for
contributing to humanity. From some HOT members I also have known that he made
many great contributions to the OSM and humanitarian field. He was chair of
LearnOSM working group. He told in his user’s profile “Possibly I can do some
mapping while I'm away”. We wish Tom will always be mapping in heaven too. His
work here will not soon be forgotten.
Tom will be greatly missed by HOT community and everyone here in Bangladesh
community is saddened by his death. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with
Tom and his family and friends during this difficult time.
With sincere sympathy,
Ahasan

Dear Friends,
Last night I learned our dear friend and tireless contributor Tom Taylor passed
away December 24th.
Tom was the Chair of the LearnOSM Working Group where I met him. He was a
mentor to me as a newcomer to the group, and always so respectful. He shared
openly about his illness and treatments, and talked about his family in a way
that made me feel a real part of his life. He’d mentioned recently he was
learning to cook because his wife was ill, and made some light humor about it
that made me smile. He also said he was not well, more than before. Tom was
always so open about his illness but it’s always heart wrenching when someone
you care for is truly gone.
Tom interacted with many of us in the HOT community. It would be a fitting
tribute to him if we all shared our memories and lauded his memory with his
many contributions to the humanitarian work we do through mapping.
Tom caught my heart and my respect. I will miss him very much.
