Hi All, My name is Chul Hyun Park. A few weeks ago, I finished my Ph.D. dissertation entitled *Toward a Better Understanding of Complex Emergency Response Systems: An Event-Driven Lens for Integrating Formal and Volunteer-Based, Participatory Emergency Responses*. In this dissertation, I conducted interviews with HOT members and received important insights from them. I really appreciate the interviewees and all HOT members that have made significant contributions to the effective humanitarian response for the past years. You can access a formatted version of my dissertation here <https://www.researchgate.net/publication/305806646_Toward_a_Better_Understanding_of_Complex_Emergency_Response_Systems_An_Event-Driven_Lens_for_Integrating_Formal_and_Volunteer-Based_Participatory_Emergency_Responses>. If you have any comments or thoughts, feel free to let me know.
I'll continue to research management and technical strategies for integrating formal emergency response and volunteer-based emergency response. If you are working on related research projects, please let me know. I would be happy to collaborate!
