We've used the Leaderboard tool for a few mapathons... http://www.missingmaps.org/leaderboards/#/HASHTAG We usually advertise a hashtag for people to add to their changesets and can then track it on the board. if you have multiple groups, locations you can generate some competition too (will track multiple hashtags).
