I don't know what the purpose of this
post is Mez.
Are you posting it as an example (in your
opinion) of good writing or bad
writing?
Are you interested in serious critique
of the piece or not?
Does Clee Shey = Cliche indicate you're
looking for some angst,
or a little skirmish, or are you
self-smiling at this piece, or what?
I'd quite like to critique the piece, but I
feel in the current climate
a negative view of this work would be
misconstrued as "taking you on"
IF you want it critiqued as a real piece, and
IF you understand that
I crit TEXT regardless of any other emotions
(that is if you're even
curious as to MY opinion, anyway) then
let me know.
But for starters, were this the opening of a
short story and I were a
competition judge reading it, I would know
within four lines that it
was not a contender for prizes or
the short-list.
As a sort of aside. I'd estimate your age to
be 15-22 more likely 18.
Why would you think I could think
that?

As regards Mez's
writing, I am honoured that she writes to our list. She is
showing us how new
texts are being made right now, and if Alex would not
give her a prize for
her work - well, who gives a damn? I don't. We need
more people on this list
who are keen to break new ground and fewer who are
only interested in breaking heads.

mez's orientation in writing is a
cultural difference.

i rather think mez is male, maybe lingering in the middle of life, and the
winner of a pulitzer prize.

Mez's writings are
fascinating...different...seemingly
highly experimental. I'd like to know
more about that
technique. Age surely doesn't
matter does it?
