The overarching theme of a BarCamp is to promote knowledge and collaboration among like-minded technology community members. Anyone who has a technology topic or demonstration to present and has the desire to learn is welcome and invited to participate in barCamp. Last year, over 100+ web professionals, business people, members of the press and technology innovators met with great success at the Buddha Lounge for the first BarCamp Houston. Rather than being planned by an elite committee months in advance, each individual community works together to create its own custom tailored event. .
