Howdy Y'all, First off, I need to apologize to the entire group for slacking off lately on my managerial duties - to say that things have been crazy busy would be an understatement, something I know you can all relate to. That being said, while we get the Houston CFUG back on track in terms of regularly scheduled meetings and topics, I would like to announce that we have some openings in the board. If you have just a couple of hours a month you can spare to help support the industry that supports your livelihood, please consider taking on one of the roles below that does not have a name assigned to it already. Board Position Description Manager (Seth Bienek) Acts as liaison with Adobe; chairs meetings; oversees all other positions; votes in the case of a tie. Co-Manager (Chris Champion) Assists manager and takes the place of a Manager when they are unavailable. Sponsorship Chair Responsible for cultivating relationships with sponsors and procuring financial and logistical support. Membership Chair (James Husum) Responsible for driving membership Speaker Chair Coordinates and schedules monthly speakers and topics, including identifying special needs for presentations, transportation, and lodging, if needed. Coordinate's presenter's facility needs with Facilities chair. Greets speaker at meeting. Facilities Chair Secures meeting locations. Responsible for set up of meetings, ensuring audio/visual resources are functioning correctly, tables and seating are arranged appropriately, presenter's needs are met. Communications Chair Responsible for writing and distributing timely meeting announcements and reminders, and updating meeting details on website. Website Chair (Aaron Rouse) Responsible for coordinating website development efforts and managing content changes, including posting meeting notes and resources, links, etc. Treasurer Maintains accounting records; Keeps meeting minutes/notes, files necessary reports.
