Hey everyone, I just heard about a conference going on in Austin that would be a great value. It's only $25 and goes on over Friday evening, all day and into the night Saturday, and Sunday morning to early afternoon. (May 30-June 1, 2008)
I'd recommend going if you're into agile development, or have heard of it and want to learn more. The great part of an Open Spaces conference is that you get to help set the agenda: so you can argue for beginner or intermediate or advanced sessions. There's also a bit for leadership training. It sounds like its going to be a good conference. This year I'm going to miss it because I'm closing on my house and preparing for a wedding on that weekend, but I emailed the organizer and expressed my support and my hope that they'll do it again. You can find more info at http://openspace.agileaustin.org/index.php?title=Agile_Open_Space_Austin Part of the idea is to expand our communities' collaboration with those in Austin, so I'd like to see as many Houstonians representing us as possible. And really, $25 is very cheap for a conference that will get you a great learning experience, and chance to chat with others who share your passion for software development.
