FreeBSD sounds good but we are on Windows Server 2003 at the data center. I'm looking into a windows apps like hmailserver http://www.hmailserver.com/ but nothing that I've looked at so far indicates that they are good for bulk emails. We are on CF 8 Enterprise so I'm not to worried about the CF appserver processing the emails. I'm worried that the SMTP server hanging and bogging down my webserver. -Eddie

What I always would do is setup a server running FBSD OS and used it for my bulk emailing needs. Probably some very good Windows based solutions as well. We have recently had problems with getting black listed for sending out spam and as a result I'm no longer able to send and receive emails through my web app. So now I need to set up a reliable and robust SMTP server on one of the boxes at the data center so I can send out and receive emails. The SMTP server should be suited for processing bulk emails and be cost effective (dirt cheap). Does anybody have a recommendation as to a good solution? -Eddie -- Aaron Rouse http://www.happyhacker.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the "Houston ColdFusion Users' Group" discussion list.
