If the Creston server has a command line utility you could communicate with it
via that and cfexecute.

It might be easy enough to write a small app in c/c# to emulate the various
comands you want it to do also. Sounds like a fun weekend project ;).

I tried to google what a Creston server is to see if this advice would even
make sense but didnt really come up with anything.

I want to open a socket to communicate with the Creston server. I am going to
send it commands and have it return information to me. As well as send it
commands to execute on the server.

Oh, I’m using a home ColdFusion server for home theater and home automation
applications too. I think what you are trying to do is open a socket to have
the Creston report changes in conditions of units and/or communicate desired
actions you’d like the Creston server to apply to a specific unit or units. Is
this a correct assessment?

I am trying to open a TCP socket to a server.

Anybody have any good resources that I can look at?

I did a Google search and did not turn up much
