James, We've used a product from ThinkGeo (formerly Spatially Aware) that is a full suite of GIS tools. You can turn layers on/off such as roads, railways, cities (3-4 levels based on size of city), parks, counties and so on.
If I recall, it was about $9,000. It's a .Net component, but we use it in our CF apps by including it in an iframe. -Steve -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of James Dismukes Sent: Friday, September 18, 2009 10:22 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [houcfug] OT - Website Maps This is slightly off topic, but it is being used for a Coldfusion site! We're adding a map to our site, like Google Maps/Yahoo Maps. Both of them do what we want, but they display a little too much information, like cities & roads for example. So far I haven't found an option to remove all that from the map (satellite version of course doesn't have all that, but we need the map type). So my question is - does anyone know of an alternate to Google/Yahoo maps that has similar features - such as dragging and zooming? It doesn't have to be a free service, just wondering if someone has used something else that they would recommend. Google Maps has a Premier API and I'm waiting for a callback from them, and I've found one or two other services but this group has proven to be a great resource for things like this so I'm hoping someone has a good recommendation or idea. -James Dismukes --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the "Houston ColdFusion Users' Group" discussion list.
