Yes, I think I saw that in the jTDS site.

Thanks for the suggestion though Ajas.

Usually I connect to SQL Server via the native driver with no problem it's the
SSL factor that is throwing a wrench in the mix.

I realize that not many people actually do this but I'm still surprised by how
little info there is about it online.

thanks.

I came across this. Have you looked at these already?

Why do I get java.sql.SQLException: "Network error IOException: Connection
refused: connect" when trying to get a connection?

The "Connection refused" exception is thrown by jTDS when it is unable to
connect to the server. There may be a number of reasons why this could happen:

The server name is misspelled or the port number is incorrect.
SQL Server is not configured to use TCP/IP. Either enable TCP/IP from SQL
Server's Network Utility app or have jTDS connect via named pipes (see the URL
format for information on how to do this).
There is a firewall blocking port 1433 on the server.
To check whether TCP/IP is enabled and the port is not blocked you can use
"telnet <server_host> 1433". Until telnet doesn't connect, jTDS won't either.
If you can't figure out why, ask your network administrator for help.

The error message is:

The JDBC URL is:
jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://XXX.XX.XXX.X:1433/master;useLOBs=false;ssl=require
with the X's replaced by an acutal IP address of course.

The Driver Class is:
net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver

The connection string is:
ValidateServerCertificate=false;EncryptionMethod=SSL;

Just out of curiosity, what error are you getting?

Also can you show an example of connection string please?

I used the keytool to verify that it was in the cert store.

I also restarted the coldfusion service.

Has anybody used the native CF8 SQL Server driver with SSL?

Did you put the SSL cert in the jrun cert store?
