The new RIM Playbook is doing some cool things: it lets you build apps using the skills you already know: Adobe Air or HTML5. (Without having to depend on a translation framework like PhoneGap.)
This is cool. What's cooler? For a limited time, Blackberry is waiving the $200 fee to become a registered developer. Even better? Free tablet if you get at least one app submitted and approved by March 15: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2011/01/free-blackberry-playbook-tablet-offer/ To top it off, Adobe is giving away free stuff, to user groups and to developers who submit an accepted app, until February 28. ( https://adobecommunity.dabbledb.com/page/rimraffle/linlDkVu after app accepted) 1) ALL user groups who have at least one app submitted get one extra software raffle in 2011. 2) 10 user group members (or managers) drawn at random from all entries get a copy of FB4 Premium. 3) THREE Grand Prize winning user groups will get a mobile device to raffle off at an upcoming user group meeting I downloaded their SDK and simulator over the weekend. Pretty amazing how easy it is to get an app up and running in a short amount of time. Soon, we may have some more cool news regarding the RIM Playbook. Stay tuned ...
