Please forgive the "spammy" nature of this post, but thought I'd pass this on.
Geekli.st is a social networking site for programmers. You post
"accomplishments" on projects ("I scaled Twitter", "I wrote a social networking
app in ColdFusion that handles 200,000 concurrent users", etc). Others on the
site then give you "high 5"s. You follow are are followed by others. Until now
it's been a closed beta, and has attracted some huge names: creator of Ruby,
creator of Rails, creator of node.js, Robert Scoble, Gina Trapiani, and others.
I've been a member of the site for several months. Sadly, there's a serious
lack of ColdFusion developers on the site (plenty of node and Ruby though). I
just received notice that they're opening up beta testing, so I thought I'd
pass the info on:
http://geekli.st/invite/friends12252011
and enter code: GETBETA1
I have no clue how long this'll remain available, but wanted to share in case
anyone is interested.
