Everyone should go this conference. It's just a drive up to Dallas and only costs $72 - you'll blow more than that on drinks at Adobe MAX or cf.Objective() !
It's Feb 24-26, Fri-Sun. So even if you can't get time off work, you can easily attend Sat and Sun. With this in mind, the first day isn't conference sessions, but is a "bonus" day: free workshops on misc frameworks and open CF engines. There will also be an "unconference", where the topics and speakers are chosen on the spot. (As I understand it, if you can make it, you have a shot at presenting!) Days 2 and 3 are regular sessions. They are geared towards open CFML, but there's plenty of "regular" CFML talk in there, as well as a focus on Gov 2.0. There will be some serious heavy hitters giving talks: the folks behind Mura, Railo, Open BlueDragon, as well as some serious contributors to the open source projects many of us depend on. And if your heads about to explode and you need to listen to something light, I'll be giving a talk as well. :-) There's also a hack-fest going on: an app will be built during the conference for a worth cause (to be chosen). Not only does this have feel good factor, but you'll probably have a chance to put some new skills to work (it'll likely be in a specific framework and/or engine that you may not have used) www.opencfsummit.org Billy Cravens [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "Houston ColdFusion Users' Group" discussion list.
