Our next meeting will be next Monday, May 14. Note that this meeting isn't on our usual Wednesday due to cf.Objective().
I'll be presenting my talk on authentication that I'll be giving at cf.Objective(). This will show you how to implement OpenID and oAuth providers as an authentication solution for your apps, focusing on Twitter, Facebook, and Google. We'll look at how to do this with new apps as well as apps with an existing authentication system. Paladin continues their generous sponsorship of our meetings, providing the food and drinks. Paladin is a great staffing resource, whether you're looking for your next gig or need to add resources to your project. This will be our second meeting at the wonderful CTREC Hilton training facility. The first meeting there went well, and we're looking forward to future meetings there. Please go to www.houcfug.org for directions. We have moved to the Meetup.com platform. I'd strongly encourage everyone who might want to attend to go there and RSVP. This really helps us and Paladin plan. In addition, Meetup offers additional features such as adding the meeting to your calendar. Even if you aren't going to attend this meeting, everyone who is part of our group on Meetup will be emailed whenever a meeting is posted there. I'd also like to let everyone know about our June meeting. John C. Bland II, one of the co-authors of the ColdFusion Web Application Construction Kit, will give us an introduction to ColdFusion on Wheels, a ColdFusion version of the popular Ruby on Rails platform. He'll also point out how CFWheels and Rails are similar and different.
